On October 11, 2017, starting 10:00 AM, The Municipal Police in Łódź, together with the Center for Security Technologies in Logistics of the University of Łódź will host a scientific conference called “Traffic Threats. Łódź protects from excessive speed“.
According to the traffic statistics conducted at the Traffic Department of the Municipal Police in Łódź, only in 2016, 11,167 traffic incidents occurred in the City, of which 2,853 occurred as a result of incorrect speed adjustment on the road. Statistics clearly show that nearly 26% of road accidents, including those in which people died, were caused by excessive speed. How to make the public opinion aware of the dangers of speed? What are the effects of this action and how to prevent such an event? These and many other questions will be answered by the speakers, whose professional activities are related to road safety systems. Possible solutions to this problem will also be considered using scientific research and advanced technologies.
The conference will take place at the prof. Jan Zieleniewski assembly hall (Łódź, Matejki Street 22/26). It is directed, among others, for current and future drivers, driving instructors, educators, and a wide range of people interested in improving road safety.
